The Marvel's mightiest heroes series feature graphic novels which incorporate a complete storyline, in this case the Hulk Dogs of War storyline, accompanied by complete overviews of the character, its origin and evolution to date and with a time line of key publications. This format is positively brilliant for firm fans or new readers alike of any of the featured Marvel heroes.

This is an excellent example of the format working at its best too since the Dogs of War storyline aims to provide an overview of much of the origin and key episodes in the Hulk's development within a single storyline. It picks up from Banner's diagnosis with a degenerative brain disease and features his seeking help from former acquaintences in assessing what this could mean for his own survival and the consequences for the world at large and progresses with the intervention of villainous black ops types who want to exploit him for their own ends.
