Thompson & Morgan Cherry Laurel Hedge Plant - Green

Perfect for hedging garden boundaries, fast-growing Cherry Laurel quickly forms a dense bush of shiny evergreen foliage, effectively providing year-round colour, screening and filtering noise pollution from nearby roads. Versatile and unfussy, this reliable shrub grows well in most soils and conditions and can be easily pruned to the shape and size required. Besides providing a lush green hedge, Cherry Laurel also produces delicate sprays of cream-coloured flowers during spring which are great for pollinators, then later turn to berries which feed wild birds. This popular RHS AGM variety makes a superb low maintenance specimen plant for borders, woodland areas and wildlife gardens. Supplied as 50 - 80cm bareroots. Planting Distance: 50cm (20") or 3 plants per metre for a single line hedge.Grow Cherry Laurel plants in sun or shade, in any moderately fertile, reliably moist, well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Prunus shrubs at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil. When planting a Cherry Laurel hedge, position the individual plants at a distance of 75cm (30") apart.Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Once established, Prunus plants require only occasional attention, removing any damaged stems and lightly trimming those that spoil the shape of the plant in summer after flowering. If grown as a hedge, Cherry Laurel can be trimmed from early to mid spring, and tolerates hard pruning when necessary.Position: Full Sun/Partial ShadeHeight: Up to 8m when fully establishedSpread: Up to 4m when fully establishedSupplied as 1, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1000 x Cherry Laurel Hedging Bare Root Plants.Delivered with growing and care instructions.
