Bilt Hamber Etchweld is a single-pack, high-performance self-etching primer designed to deliver exceptional adhesion to bare steel substrates. It provides strong corrosion protection while promoting excellent bonding for a wide range of intermediate coats and topcoats, and can even improve the durability of powder coating systems.
Etchweld can also be used on certain non-metallic surfaces, however testing is recommended prior to full application.
Etchweld works as an effective adhesion promoter for 2K fillers, putties, and stoppers. Unlike many traditional etch primers, Etchweld also offers a weld-through function, helping protect flanges and seams from corrosion before assembly. It delivers high levels of adhesion on non-ferrous metals, including aluminium and zinc-treated surfaces, and is free from heavy metals and chromat.
