Foraging for food is a natural behaviour of rabbits and nearly all herbivores, so providing them with different ways to forage for their food or treats provides them with a lot of enrichment.
Unfortunately, most snuffle mats on the market are made with fabrics that herbivores can't digest, such as cotton or even worse plastic fabrics (fleece etc). As rabbits and other small pets will always nibble at their toys and furnishings, we want your pets to be safe by not ingesting harmful materials. And this is why we use only natural untreated materials (jute and raw hessian) for our snuffle mats, as they are non-toxic and digestible, so do not cause intestinal blockages or illness.
The snuffle mats measure approximately 30cm long (12 inches) by 21cm wide (8 inches) by 5cm deep (2 inches). They can be used time and again - just shake them out between uses, and give the poms a good reinvigorating fluff-up to create the spaces for you to hide all the lovely forage treats!
