Beethoven: Quartets, Opus 18

The Allegri String Quartet's latest release, "Beethoven/Quartets Opus 18 - Vol 1," is like a breath of fresh air in the stuffy world of classical music. These four musicians bring a playful energy to Beethoven's early string quartets, injecting new life into these timeless compositions. From the moment you press play, it's clear that the Allegri String Quartet is not your typical stuffy classical ensemble. They attack these Beethoven quartets with a sense of urgency and passion that is truly infectious. The opening Allegro con brio of Op. 18, No. 1 is played with such gusto that you can't help but be swept away by the music. But it's not all high energy and bombastic performances. The Allegri String Quartet also knows how to bring out the delicate beauty in Beethoven's music. The Adagio affettuoso ed appassionato of Op. 18, No. 1 is played with such tenderness and grace that it's impossible not to be moved. Overall, "Beethoven/Quartets Opus 18 - Vol 1" is a triumph for the Allegri String Quartet. They bring a fresh perspective to these classic works, breathing new life into Beethoven's music. Whether you're a die-hard classical music fan or just looking for something new and exciting to listen to, this album is sure to delight and inspire.
